LSE-PKU Summer Program STUDY LIFE

I am BACK
recently i have taken part LSE-PKU Summer Program on 12 August till 23 August
it is a really nice experience in my life
because i can be an International student in a big campus
and so can enjoy the facilities over there and also met a lot of friends who come from differ countries

let me share about my study life within the two weeks
basically it is an intensive program
we have to study from Monday to Friday
8.30AM until 3.00PM/4.20PM

this program had offered about 13 courses which focus on China and Asia in subjects
including management, economics, international relations, law, media and so on
Overall it is a two-week English-language international program offered university-level courses
And i had chosen CHINA'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

i m interested either in economic or in culture of China
therefore i had chosen this course in this program
i have studied the recommended book before attending this class
so i had not much stress in these two weeks

HOWEVER
i had presentation, essay and final exam in these two weeks
sound like exhausting and tiring
but I HAVE DONE
this was my first time doing presentation in front of these ABC friends
i was nervous actually because i scared that they would not understand what im talking about
but luckily they did understand and even had a good comment from them
they just felt weird about my Malaysia slang
( i know right >.<)

ESSAY
this was the most difficult task for me
because it is not a simple essay
basically it is a research and i have to find some new point on my research
overall it is a THESIS
i never wrote this before in my university
and plagiarism is PROHIBITED
so i think this is the stressful part i had
i stayed in my hotel for half of the day
and forced myself to finish the essay since the due date was the NEXT DAY
and so i missed a delicious dinner
>.<

FINAL EXAM
basically it looked like my history exam
because the questions all were about the reasons or background of the reformations
blablablablabla...
well IT IS OVER

okay now i would like to share about the facilities in PKU
one word GREAT
it is a really big comparison to Malaysia Campus
first, it is bigger than ours
second, the facilities over here are completed
third, it is super convenient to the students

i had lost in first two days within the campus
because i really didnt know where i had gone
but luckily after that im familiar with the ways haha

the library here oso very very BIG
6-level of this building
and the study rooms over here is super convenient
because it is opened from 7am to 10.30pm
so i had prepared my final and done my research in the buildings
LIBRARY
STUDY ROOMS
CANTEEN
super BIG and CHEAP
my lunch only cost me around RM5
with a bowl of rice, a plate of vege and meat

if you felt bored with the food in canteen
you can also try the restaurants within the campus
and ya forgot to mention
we can pay by STUDENT CARD
in short our student card is also a debit card
CONVENIENT TILL THE MAX!!
FOOD IN CANTEEN

SUPERMARKET
ya it is located within the campus
i bought my water over here by using my student card also
and bought some biscuits over there

BANK
i had changed my HK dollar within the campus
well banking system in China is really complicated
i have to fill in the form and also photostat my passport
it is good to have a debit/credit card to use in China actually

PRINTING SERVICE
i have to print out my essay as our lecturer need a hard copy
so i went to a shop within the campus and printed my essay
only RM0.05 for each copy
and it is opened at 7am
damn CONVENIENT and CHEAP right??!!

OVERALL
im so happy that i have this chance to be an international student in these two weeks
and i APPRECIATED it~~^^
i can use all these facilities by using my student card also

the most important is
I HAVE SPOKEN IN ENGLISH IN THESE TWO WEEKS
exclude speaking in mandarin with local people =)

ENVIRONMENT IN CAMPUS

PS:
ya i almost forgot to share the environment within the campus
i cant calculate how big it is
but i can tell you that it has a lake and a building which look like a temple
and it has around 6 gates/entrance within the campus
and i took about 10-15mins walk from a gate to another gate
so you can imagine how big it is, right??
^^
